Packaging is not the enemy of ecologically-aware people. Food is fresher and more hygienic than in the past due to modern packaging, but the materials to make the packaging must be sustainable ones, not petrol-based plastics, says Robert.

Alexir produce foo•go's cartons which biodegrade in approximately 14 weeks. With cornstarch-based windows, water-based inks, and cardboard from sustainable forestry,foo•go leads the industry in environmentally friendly packaging and so far no one is following.

This eco-friendly alternative to plastic packaging is more expensive. In the sandwich industry, foo•go alone has eaten the increased cost.

Innovation at foo•go raised the packaging standard for the whole convenience food industry, but we can only do it with the help of experts like Robert Davison.
